Yuletide Greetings

The year comes to a close and with it some updates from Star Club. Happy Yule to you!

This year has been one of growth and change for us, with appearances by myself and Dr. Halo Quin across the UK and even Europe! You can read about my adventures here on TVC, and Halo’s reflections here at their blog.

Star Club Initiates performing the Mass of Babalon at the International Thelemic Symposium

In September, Star Club sponsored the return of the International Thelemic Symposium in Oxford and our Initiates helped to staff the event, which was a huge success. Halo and I offered a lecture and workshops each and a ritual by Star Club, along with speakers from across Europe - we had attendees all the way from Scandinavia and America. The lectures were recorded, and as a special thank-you TVC has provided the videos to Star Club Members. You can purchase an online ticket here to view them at home.

The same month (as I don’t do things by halves), we began to host the Star Moot at The Victoria Park in Bristol, to allow non-members to connect with Practitioners and the wider occult and pagan community, and this has been a success through the autumn and winter. We completed our 4th Practitioner Cycle and offered Initiations, leading to 3 new Initiates and 4 Luminaries, and have now transferred the mantle of Officership for the Initiation itself. This is a huge achievement for Star Club - when Halo and I set up the group and then created the Initiation with Ben Dean of Raven Records and Satanic Recovery, a guiding principle was that none of us should be irreplaceable, and in forming a new constellation of Initiation Officers and Luminaries able to take on these roles, we have ensured that the Order of the Starry Temple can continue without us. Plus - I get a rest!

While we will continue to teach the 5th Practitioner Cycle in Bristol, we are also starting the Graduate Programme to train our Initiates to lead each of the Praxes and run training groups. In time, we will be able to offer Practitioner Cycles further afield with visits from me and Halo, and offer magical learning to a greater community. This has always been our aspiration, to let the technology and mysteries we encode in the Framework and Praxes reach a wider audience who seek learning and results! Our next Cycle is nearly full, so make sure to secure your place soon.

As noted in a previous blog post, Star Club is offered as a course of The Visible College, and as TVC ramps up we will be migrating to a closer relationship. This also means that we will be writing less on this blog, and winding down our email newsletter.

The Visible College’s newsletter will keep you up to date with events, videos, and our projects - there’s a lot to look forward to next year including the Glastonbury Occult Conference, David Rankine’s Conjuration Masterclass in April, and next year’s Thelemic Symposium. We look forward to seeing you there.
