Star Club hosts Sian Sibley for our next monthly Open Lecture. A lecture on the importance of pastoral care in magical groups, followed by a Mass of Babalon performed by Star Club!
Drinking Tea & Herding Spiders
Sian will be speaking about running magical groups and pastoral care within the occult community, bringing her three decades of experience in both leading the DragonOak Coven in South Wales and her career in teaching. Safeguarding is an important issue for all groups and the well-being of practitioners should be emphasised in any organisation.
The talk will be interactive and offer different perspectives on running a coven, with tales of adventures and a fun group exercise to engage all attending.
Sian is the author of Unveiling the Green, a book on working psychologically, alchemically and astrologically with plant spirits, and Black Paths and Green Cathedrals, her take on ecological witchcraft and working with the spirit of the trees. Sian is the organiser of the South Wales Occult Conference and is offering an Autumn Equinox workshop and celebration at The Visible College which you can attend here.
A Mass of Babalon
Star Club Initiates will perform a Mass of Babalon, celebrating the sensual deity of Thelema who carries the current of the Red Goddess through the ages.
Through revelatory works of St. John of Patmos, John Dee and Edward Kelley, Aleister Crowley, and Jack Parsons, Babalon continues to enthral occultists throughout the world as the woman girt with sword, the Scarlet Woman, Mother of Abominations, and a force of nature residing in the bodies of all of us.
This ritual was recently performed at the Occulture Retreat in San Leo, Italy and is drawn from The Grimoire of Aleister Crowley by Rodney Orpheus. Come and celebrate the Red Goddess with us, bringing an open heart and a readiness to experience the mystery of incarnation.
